Van Niekerk Culverts, Middelton, Eastern Cape

This project involves the construction of critical water-crossing infrastructure at Van Niekerk Culverts in Middelton, Eastern Cape. Current works include the construction of a 4-cell portal box culvert bridge crossing, together with reinforced wingwalls and the reinstatement of embankments to ensure long-term structural stability and safe passage through the area.

In addition, works are underway on a minor 2-cell portal box culvert low water crossing, including associated fill works and embankment rehabilitation. Once completed, these upgrades will improve drainage capacity, enhance accessibility, and strengthen the resilience of the surrounding infrastructure against water flow and erosion.
